In the early 1990’s, The Coca-Cola Company needed help with travel fulfillment services for a marketing promotion campaign to introduce a new product. The group would be 1000 customers traveling together on a cruise. They approached their corporate travel partner at the time, American Express, for a solution on how to service this unique project. An executive at the time in AMEX Travel, Kaye Mulkeen built an internal team to work with that first group of promotion winners, and after running a very successful program, Coca-Cola continued to give Kaye’s group new product promotions to manage.
This type of business was out of the ordinary for AMEX Travel, as it was neither “Corporate” business travel nor “Retail” leisure travel, so AMEX decided to outsource it. Travel by Design was thus formed, and decades later, TBD continues to service Coca-Cola and many other corporations with global brand recognition. Today, we are the industry leaders in a travel niche of individual brand loyalty promotions as well as corporate group sales and other types of incentive programs. Think of us as the travel fulfillment arm to your marketing braintrust.

Owner Kaye Mulkeen brings a keen business acumen to our team; she has honed her award-winning leadership skills by guiding account management, change management, operations, customer service, and sales teams to enhanced success. From Walt Disney World, to American Express, to World Travel Partners (now BCD Meetings & Incentives), Kaye has built a robust travel industry management resume, including her significant role in making WorldTravel Partners the first-ever official travel services sponsor for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Talk about innovation!
Operations and Air Travel Specialist Janet Shepherd knows how to make people travel- happy and comfortable. She spent the bulk of her impressive career in customer service with Apollo, a leading global reservations system serving travel agencies worldwide. Janet is our resident wiz at accommodating air and ground transportation arrangements with added flair.
Trudy Kelly comes from AAA Travel with outstanding destination and vendor knowledge, knowledge she can creatively leverage to get the best pricing on even the most exclusive travel ventures. Having lived overseas in both Europe and Asia, she draws from experience in every aspect of the travel business—retail, group, and corporate—Travel and Destination Specialist Trudy is delighted to focus her considerable talents on European, Hawaiian and Cruise destinations.
Accounting Manager Kathy Bozeman keeps our operation in step with your budget by supervising A/P, A/R, and payroll. Someone has to be the QuickBooks and spreadsheet expert, and we couldn’t imagine a candidate more capable than Kathy.
Beth Sibert – Combining her seven-year tenure as an American Express Travel Counselor with her extensive forays throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, and Latin America—not to mention her summers spent in Ireland—Beth has transformed her personal and professional wanderlust into exceptional travel planning and management. She also makes multi-tasking an art form, but, no matter how many plates she’s spinning, Beth maintains an amazing devotion to every single detail. Even outside the office, Beth keeps her loves of tennis, the arts, fine wine, choreography, two daughters, two dogs, and a husband in seamless balance.
